WHERE ARCHITECTURE HONORS THE EARTH.

The design & nature of The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Riviera Maya begins with a single conviction: that the most extraordinary homes are those that exist in harmony with the land they occupy.

The Architecture

Architecture and interior design by Sordo Madaleno — Mexico’s premier firm — draws from the building traditions of the ancient Mayans, whose structures prioritized coexistence with natural elements. Building scale, sightlines, and structural form are all influenced by this heritage.

The LAND

180 acres. Less than 15% developed.

The remainder belongs to the land: dense mangrove forests, lush jungle canopy, natural dunes, and a private crescent of white-sand beach. This is a sanctuary for rare and exotic species — extraordinary wildlife native to the Yucatan Peninsula thrives throughout the property’s preserved natural landscape.

Paths made from white sand — the same material the ancient Mayans used to navigate their forest pathways — connect the property at every point.

Sustainability

Development covers less than 15% of the owned land. The rest is actively preserved.

  • Prioritization of local materials in all construction
  • Building traditions influenced by Mayan coexistence with nature
  • Property designed for walking, hiking, and bicycling
  • Food and dining experiences centered on local ingredients and traditional preparation
  • Architectural design that enhances natural light and temperature across all seasons

 Cenotes

Just beyond the property’s grounds, cenotes — naturally occurring freshwater caves with deep spiritual significance to the Yucatan’s indigenous Mayan culture — dot the landscape. Cenote Suytun, Cenotes Dos Ojos, and Cenotes Sac Actun are all within short reach.

These are not tourist attractions. They are ancient places. And from The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Riviera Maya, they are simply part of the neighborhood.
